  10. I briefly skimmed this book in the UW bookstore and it seems to be
  11. reasonably decent.  It was based on information from NIDA resulting from
  12. (if i remember correctly) some seminars which followed the media hysteria
  13. over the "comeback" of LSD we saw about 2 years or so ago.  It doesn't
  14. engage in a lot of anti-LSD hysteria, but there are some subtle biases -- 
  15. for example, from what i saw it had a tendency to quote your usual
  16. eloquent high school LSD users.  Why fucking bother trying to draw
  17. conclusions about what LSD is like when your sample is so totally biased?
  18. Of course, what they're not getting is people who are older and employed
  19. and don't exactly go around flaunting their LSD use.  They wind up with
  20. those who are younger, who are drop outs, or who've managed to get into
  21. trouble from it...

  23. Anyway it *did*, however, seem to be devoid of the usual scare stories
  24. about LSD.  It would be useful when trying to argue with people who are
  25. substantially negative on LSD...
